PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal material by which the quality of the material, the unit consumption of fuel and the productivity can be improved by using the plurality of continuous type heating furnaces so as to accurately and efficiently heat the material to be heated, such as steel material. SOLUTION: The method for producing the metal material comprises; a process, in which the amount is added up by using the targeted extracting temperature related to a prescribed number of the materials to be heated before heating, by using the continuous type heating furnace group composed of the continuous type heating furnace provided with continuously heating burners in the inner part and the continuous type heating furnace provided with regenerative changer type burners; a process, in which the material to be heated at the targeted extracted temperature at the fewest number of the materials to be heated from the tabulation result, are extracted; and a process, in which the extracted materials to be heated, are charged into the continuous type heating furnaces provided with the generative changer type burners are contained.
