PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting resin composition having an extremely high curing rate and also excellent in heat stability, and its cured material. SOLUTION: This thermosetting resin composition comprises (a) a novolac type phenol resin, (b) a polyacetal resin, (c) a decomposition-initiator of the polyacetal resin (b), (d) a reaction accelerator of formaldehyde generated from the decomposition of the (b) polyacetal resin with the (a) novolac type phenolic resin. The (c) decomposition initiator of the (b) polyacetal resin is a compound of generating a radical. The cured material obtained by curing the thermosetting resin composition is also provided.
