ALKALINE CELL

An alkaline cell comprising a cell case, a power generating element housed in the cell case, and an assembly sealing unit for blocking the opening of the cell case. The assembly sealing unit includes a resin sealing body. The sealing body consists of a center cylinder unit having a through hole for receiving the shaft of a cathode collector, an outer peripheral cylinder unit interposed between the peripheral edge of the cathode terminal plate and the opening end of the cell case, and connector connecting the center cylinder unit and the outer peripheral cylinder unit together. The opening end of the cell case is bent so as to encompass the upper portion of the outer peripheral cylinder unit of the sealing body, and the bent portion is caulked inward to clamp the peripheral edge of the cathode terminal plate. The sealing body contains polyamide having an equilibrium moisture regain of 0.9-1.7% at relative humidity of 50%.
