A vent (10) for a machinery enclosure such as an automotive axle includes a vent body having a passageway (16) between the interior of the enclosure and the exterior of the enclosure and an ePTFE membrane (30) covering the passageway (16). The membrane (30) and a fibrous sorbent (20) are disposed within the passageway (16) between the interior of the enclosure and the membrane (30).
