<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of enhancing its mechanical strength, preventing foreign substances from flowing into the inside while preventing light of a light source from leaking, and a display device equipped with this light source. <P>SOLUTION: Reinforcing member 15 having a honeycomb structure and a second plate material 16 are disposed in this order on the backside of a first plate material 10, that is, a side opposite the side where a CCFL 13 is provided. Since the honeycomb structure is light and highly rigid, the mechanical strength of a backlight device can be heightened without increasing its weight, and it is therefore suitable especially for a large liquid crystal display device. In addition, since a through hole is not formed in the second plate material, even when light of the CCFL 13 leaks to the backside of the first plate material 10 through a through hole 10a as shown by the arrow mark L, it never leaks to the backside of the second plate material 16 because the second plate material 16 exists. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
