<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a birefringence measuring instrument which can eliminate the replacement work of a measuring light source, since the service life of the measuring light source can be extended semipermanently, can be enhanced in the maintenance properties and can obtain measurement accuracy that is equivalent to that of a birefringence measuring instrument using an He-Ne laser source. <P>SOLUTION: In the birefringence measuring instrument 10, equipped with a floodlight projector 12 and a light detector 14, the light source part 22 of the floodlight projector 12 is equipped with an LED 26, a spectral diffraction means for spectrally diffracting the light emitted from the LED 26, a condensing means for condensing the light emitted from the LED 26, and a parallel light forming means for converting condensed light to parallel light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
