PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition having low viscosity and nevertheless low evaporation loss, exhibiting excellent lubrication characteristics and oxidation stability such as low-temperature viscosity characteristics and seize resistance and suitable for engines, automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, final reduction mechanisms, continuously variable transmissions, etc. SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition comprises (A) a lubricating base oil and (B) a poly(meth)acrylate additive added in an amount to give the composition having a kinetic viscosity (Vc) of 3-15 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 100°C, a viscosity index of 95-200 and a Vb/Vc ratio of≥0.60 wherein Vb is the kinetic viscosity of the lubricating base oil A at 100°C and further contains (C) 0.03-0.5 mass% metallic cleaning agent in terms of metal, (D) 0.005-0.15 mass% ashless dispersing agent in terms of nitrogen and (E) 0.02-0.3 mass% zinc dithiophosphate in terms of phosphorus.
