PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed polyurethane elastomer having all of a low spring constant suitable for exhibiting vibration proof and damping performance, good compression characteristics, high mechanical strength, small compression permanent deformation, good fatigue resistance and low water absorption in good balance. SOLUTION: This foamed polyurethane elastomer is produced by curing a froth-like raw material in a molding tool that is obtained by mechanically stirring an elastomer-forming composition under an inert gas atmosphere. The elastomer-forming composition comprises (A) an NCO group terminal prepolymer, (B) a polyol having a number average molecular weight of 500-6,000 and (C) a chain extender consisting of 1,4-butanediol, ethylene glycol and diglycerol, wherein a mass ratio [(B)/(C)] is from 5/95 to 25/75, and within the chain extender (C), the ratio of 1,4-butanediol is 5-42 mass%, the ratio of ethylene glycol is 30-77 mass%, the ratio of diglycerol is 17-36 mass%, and a molar ratio ([NCO]/[OH]) is 0.80-1.20.
