摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of shortening a response time of a gray scale by sealing a liquid crystal layer containing polymerization components between substrates, polymerizing the polymerization components while applying voltage on the liquid crystal layer to regulate an orientation azimuth of a liquid crystal using pretilt angle giving technique using polymer stabilizing liquid crystal orientation, and obtaining a wide viewing angle. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device seals the liquid crystal layer 24 containing polymer regulating a pretilt angle of liquid crystal molecules between the two substrates 20 and 30 arranged oppositely and a tilt direction during driving, and arranges a plurality of stripe-like electrode patterns 8 forming a wider patter width than the width of a space 10, so as to orientate the liquid crystal molecules in a longitudinal direction when forming the polymer by solidifying the polymerization components mixed in the liquid crystal layer 24, while applying the voltage on the liquid crystal layer 24.
