PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently shorten a heat storage time even when using a high melting point of substance. SOLUTION: The heat storage device 1 capable of storing heat in a heat storage tank 1a and capable of taking out the heat stored in the heat storage tank 1a, by supplying oil 2 having a specific gravity lighter than that of erythritol 3, heat-exchanged by direct contact, and separated by a specific gravity difference between the oil 2 and the erythritol 3, to the heat storage tank 1a for storing the erythritol 3 of storing latent heat by melting at 100°C or higher of melting point, and of radiating the latent heat with freezing, is provided with a thermometer 10 for measuring a temperature of the oil 2 supplied to the heat storage tank 1a, when storing the heat in the heat storage tank 1a and when taking out the heat stored in the heat storage tank 1a, and a pump 9 for stopping the supply of the oil 2 when the measured temperature of the oil 2 is outside a prescribed temperature range, and for controlling a supply quantity of the oil 2 to bring an oil supply weight per unit weight of the erythritol 3 within a prescribed range when the temperature is within the prescribed range.
