摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of extending a frequency band more than that by simple average pixel interpolation and suppressing a false color of a chromatic color object in a zigzag pixel arrangement wherein chromatic color pixels and high sensitivity pixels are alternately arranged in a checkered pattern. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus disclosed herein including an image sensor wherein the chromatic color pixels in a plurality of colors and the high sensitivity pixels with higher sensitivity with respect to incident light than the sensitivity of the chromatic color pixels are alternately arranged in the checkered pattern includes: correlation detection sections (25, 27, 29) for detecting a correlation of an imaged object on the basis of signal components of the high sensitivity pixels and signal components of the chromatic color pixels; a color discrimination block 12 for discriminating whether or not the imaged object has a chromatic color on the basis of the signal component of the chromatic color pixels; and pixel interpolation blocks 13 (pixel interpolation sections 26, 28, 30) that executes processing of switching a pixel interpolation method depending on whether or not the object has a chromatic color on the basis of a signal discriminated by the color discrimination block 12 and carries out processing of taking precedence of the interpolation applied to pixels with higher correlation on the basis of information from the correlation detection sections when the color discrimination block 12 discriminates that the object has a chromatic color.
