PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cold-forged article of an aluminum alloy having high dimensional precision at a low cost while applying a comparatively low forging load. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises the steps of: heating an aluminum alloy material at 480 to 580°C; holding the material at the temperature for 0.5 to 5 hours to solution-treat it (S3-1), then quenching (S3-2) it by dipping it in a quenching liquid containing an aqueous forging lubricant kept at room temperature to 70°C to subject the material simultaneously to solution treatment and lubrication treatment. The manufacturing method also comprises cold-forging the quenched material as soon as possible (preferably in less than 2 hours and more preferably in less than 10 minutes) to decrease a forging load by inhibiting age hardening. The manufacturing method can impart sufficient mechanical properties to an article right after having been forged, accordingly can shorten a treatment period necessary for aging the forged article or can omit the treatment, and can make a forging line continuous.
