Disclosed is a household appliance comprising a first and a second housing (2, 4) which are disposed next to each other such that one sidewall (10) faces another sidewall (16) and which are attached to one another. A seal (12) is elastically compressed between facing outer surfaces of the sidewalls (10, 16). At least one shoulder (54) that is rigidly connected to the outer surface is provided on each housing (2, 4). The shoulders (54) of the two housings (2, 4) face away from each other while being flush with one another in a direction that extends essentially perpendicular to the outer surfaces (10, 16).
