A light emitting device and a method of driving the same are provided to prevent a stripe pattern from occurring in the light emitting device by discharging data lines at a discharge level corresponding to a cathode voltage of corresponding pixels. A light emitting device includes data lines(D1-D6), scan lines(S1-S4), plural pixels(E11-E64), and a discharge unit(308). The data lines are disposed in a first direction. The scan lines are disposed in a second direction different from the first direction. The plural pixels are formed on cross sections, which the data and scan lines are crossed with each other. The discharge unit applies output voltages corresponding to M-bit data to the data lines so as to have discharge levels corresponding to a cathode voltage of corresponding pixels in the data lines. |
