Described is the use of hexahydrophthalimide combinations of formula (I) for use as softeners for molding material compounds, especially polyvinyl chloride, wherein R stands for alkyl, cycloalkyl, or cycloalkylalkyl, whereb y the latter two can be unsubstituted with rests or substituted by alkyl, and the rest R has at least 6 carbon atoms.
