<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a difference in deterioration quantity among pixels in a decreasing direction while holding gray scale information of an original image. <P>SOLUTION: The burning correcting device is mounted with (a) a bit length conversion section which converts a gray scale value of (m)-bit length (m: a natural number) into a gray scale value of (m+n)-bit (n: a natural number), and (b) a gray scale variation section which varies a gray scale value of an object pixel to be corrected toward a gray scale value of a target pixel within a gap gray scale range which becomes newly usable through the bit-length conversion. In this case, the variation in gray scale by execution of correcting operation can be held within a gap gray scale range that the original image can not represent. Effect of burning correction can, therefore, be exhibited while the gray scale information of the original image is held. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
