<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element capable of preventing the peeling of a lead part on the side of a gas to be measured, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor element has a solid electrolyte body 11, the electrode 121 and lead part 122 on the side of the gas to be measured formed on one side of the solid electrolyte body 11, the electrode 131 and lead part 132 on the side of a reference gas formed on the other side of the solid electrolyte body 11, a dense protective layer 14 arranged so as to cover the lead part 122 on the side of the gas to be measured and a porous protective layer 15 laminated so as to cover the electrode 121 on the side of the gas to be measured. The base end part 141 of the dense protective layer 14 is arranged on the lead part 122 on the side of the gas to be measured. The lead part 122 on the side of the gas to be measured satisfies QB≥0.8QA when the void of the part on the base end side from the base end part 141 of the dense protective layer 14 is set to QA and the void of the part between the base end part 141 of the dense protective layer 14 and the leading end of 0.5 mm of the dense protective layer 14 is set to QB. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
