摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a tandem mass spectrometer that decelerates precursor ions while reducing both of a kinetic energy distribution and spatial expansion of the precursor ions. SOLUTION: The precursor ions generated and extracted with a first mass spectrometer 11 are made incident to first-third electrodes 12-14 in a deceleration electric-field direction formed by the electrodes and in an oblique direction having a slight angle. A voltage is applied to an acceleration electric field orthogonal to a deceleration electric field at timing that the precursor ions reach the central position between second/third electrodes 13, 14 where a speed in the deceleration electric-field direction becomes zero. Then, the precursor ions are inputted to a dissociation means 17. Therefore, it is possible to achieve a reduction in kinetic energy distribution of the precursor ions, and consequently, a reduction in kinetic energy distribution of product ions formed from the precursor ions by the dissociation means 17.
