PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle capable of securing a good steering feeling by restraining a torque variation due to relative change of a rotation phase between both cross joints together with actuation of a transmission ratio variable device installed to an intermediate shaft while improving mountability using cross joints as universal joints at both ends of the intermediate shaft. SOLUTION: An EPSECU 18 controls actuation of an EPS actuator 17 to compensate torque variation due to relative rotation phase between cross joints 12a and 12b at both ends of an intermediate shaft 11 together with actuation of a gear ratio variable actuator 7 installed to the intermediate shaft 11.
