PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta toner having a wide color space and excellent in color reproducibility, transparency, charging property and development durability. SOLUTION: The magenta toner comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a wax component, and an inorganic fine powder, wherein the total content of the colorant in the toner particles is 3-20 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the binder resin, a quinacridone-based colorant and an oil-soluble dye are contained as the colorant, the ratio of the quinacridone-based colorant to the oil-soluble dye being 0.1-10, and when the mass of the oil-soluble dye extracted by methanol from 1 g of the toner is represented by A (mg), A satisfies 0.5≤A≤10.0.
