PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wear-resistant and durable brush material for use in polishing and grinding to polish and deburr the surface of a workpiece, with which deburring effects and polishing effects can be expected even if burrs occurring on the surface or corners of the workpiece are hard when used under such severe conditions as the brush material is brought into contact with the surface of the workpiece while rapidly rotated or strong pressing force is applied. SOLUTION: A covering layer 14 with a fine-powdered polishing agent 13 mixed is provided on a surface of a bristle material 12a with a polishing agent 10 of large grains mixed and comprising an assembly of a plurality of resin bristles 12 with a circular or polygonal cross section.
