[Also in Division F2] An electric motor clutch-brake arrangement for a sewing machine comprises an axially fixed motor shaft B having a driven pulley 16 and a clutch-brake disc 30 fast thereon which disc 30 is selectively engaged by axially slidable clutch and brake surfaces respectively fast on a flywheel 27 secured to the motor rotor D and on a non-rotatable disc 60. Clockwise movement of a lever 73 acts through a linkage G on a brake operating mechanism F (see Division F2) to permit rightward brake release movement of a brake disc 60 and also acts on a clutch operating mechanism E which effects rightward movement of the flywheel 27 and motor rotor D for clutch engagement. Fan blades 26 on the rotor D circulate cooling air through ducts 21 surrounding the motor stator C. |
