A chair having a foldable backrest is provided to allow practical use of space and space saving storage of the chair after use and to make application of the chair various. A chair having a foldable backrest comprises: a backrest(1); a seat(2); a backrest support frame(3) established on the rear marginal part of the back rest; backrest connecting holes(5); a backrest combining groove(15) responding to the frontal shape formed on the rear side of the seat; a seat support frame(4); a backrest and seat combining iron wire pin(7) to take a role as a hinge, which combines the backrest and the seat rotatably; and a fixation ring(8) to fix the backrest and seat combining pin.
