An image displaying device is provided to simplify the constitution of an optical system by sequentially applying a plurality of single color lights to eliminate the need for exactly focusing the lights on a screen. A screen(1) has a plurality of pixels arranged, wherein each of the pixels has a diffusion mode and a transmission mode. A light source unit(3) is distanced from the screen(1), wherein the light source unit(3) sequentially applies a plurality of single color lights onto the screen(1). A driving unit(2) selectively converts the operating mode of the plurality of pixels into one of the diffusion mode and the transmission mode according to image data, wherein colors of the image data are separated in synchronization with the plurality of single color lights.
