PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that can keep the accuracy without being affected by dust or the like and allows easy lock operation, even when it is surrounded by casing for protection. SOLUTION: The device comprises a driving device for straightly moving a moving carriage 35, by being connected to the moving carriage 35 through elastic propagating members 70a, 70b and 72, a probe that is attached to the moving carriage 35 and comes into contact with a part to be measured to guide an article shape, linking means 62 and 82 that are put into a lock released state by the elastic propagating members 70a, 70b and 72 deformable by a force that acts on the moving carriage 35 and propagates and can be put into a lock state by transmitting the propagating force, without affecting the elastic propagating members 70a, 70b and 72, and a protective casing surrounding a protected region, where the moving carriage 35 and a guide are arranged.
