PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an acidic hair dye composition that uses an acid dye as dye and improves prevention effect on stain on the skin while suppressing reduction in dyeability. SOLUTION: In an acidic hair dye composition comprising (A) an acidic dye as dye and (B) a solvent, the acidic hair dye composition contains (C) at least one kind of a component selected from N-succinyl chitosan and carboxymethyl-N-succinyl chitosan.
