PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein the need for reduction of cogging torque which is the so-called "torque fluctuations" increases, depending on the positions of a rotor, even in a state with current not flowing through a motor. SOLUTION: In this motor, having a stator constituted of a stator core having a pair of claw-shaped poles 52 and a coil 3 for generating flux at the claw-shaped poles, the rotor which generates torque at a rotating shaft, recessed portions 51a, 52a are provided on the claw-shaped poles surfaces which face the rotor. By installing recessed portions on the surfaces of the claw-shaped poles, since the reluctance of a magnet passage can be made approximately const, the cogging torque can be reduced more than the conventional types.
