PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce throughput for decoding convolutionally encoded signals. SOLUTION: A generator 60 sequentially inputs bit data of the number of sequences specified based on an encoding ratio and bit data convolutionally encoded by a generator matrix specified according to a constraint length and an encoding ratio. A temporary decoded data shift resistor 66 delays temporary decoded data 410 over at least a period corresponding to the constraint length. The generator 60 generates bit data decoded by the sequence unit by executing exclusive OR operation based on the generation matrix on delayed temporary decoded data 410 and input bit data. A comparator 62 and selector 64 select either of generated bit data in sequences as the result of decoding, and output the selected result of decoding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
