PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key capable of ensuring sufficient strength against bending and shock. SOLUTION: A mechanical emergency key 18 is stored in a portable machine 2 to lock or unlock a door and start an engine even if a battery 17 is dead. The emergency key 18 can be divided into parts in the direction of thickness of the key. When storing the emergency key 18 in a case 16, the emergency key 18 is divided into two parts including a first divided key 23 and a second divided key 24 to store in the case 16.
