PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively easily manufacture a comparatively deep metal container formed from a bottom and a peripheral part extending upward from the perimeter of the bottom. SOLUTION: A shallow-bottomed metal container comprising the bottom 2 and peripheral part 3 extending upward from the perimeter of the bottom 2 is formed by deep drawing. Thereafter, the peripheral part 3 is cut horizontally so as to be divided into a lower peripheral part 7 integral with the bottom 3 and an upper peripheral part 8. Then, the lower edge and the upper edge of a peripheral intermediate body 10 that is a separate metal part having a ring shape as viewed above are connected to the upper edge of the lower peripheral part 7 and the lower edge of the upper peripheral part 8. A mold and a press machine for forming the container do not have to be exclusive for a deep-bottomed container, which uses a relatively high technology. Instead of this, one exclusive for a shallow-bottomed container, which uses a relatively easy technology, can be used. Accordingly, the deep-bottomed container can be relatively easily manufactured. Further, since the peripheral intermediate body 10 is manufactured separately from the shallow-bottomed container, it can be processed independently and manufactured relatively easily.
