PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead cartridge capable of holding a rodlike object of a sufficient length and allowing a simultaneous replacement of the lead and the rodlike object. SOLUTION: A lead cartridge 10 which includes a lead tank 12a for containing leads and is detachably incorporated into a mechanical pencil to supply leads comprises a rodlike object feeding mechanism which propels the rodlike object by turning manipulation. The rodlike object feeding mechanism includes a spiral groove 12h formed in the inner peripheral surface of a case 12 comprising the lead tank 12a, a guide sleeve 14 which is arranged in the case 12 to be unable to move in the axial direction and able to turn relative to the case 12 and keeps guide holes 14b extending in the axial direction are formed, and a receptacle 16 which is slidably fitted into the guide holes 14b of the guide sleeve 14 and has a male thread screwing 16c into the spiral groove 12h. A rodlike object 18 is held by the receptacle 16. When the lead cartridge 10 is incorporated into a mechanical pencil 20, the case 12 becomes unable to turn relative to the outer sleeve of the mechanical pencil, and a part of the guide sleeve 14 protrudes out of the mechanical pencil.
