The vacuum cleaner (1) has a blowing filter (6), which is a high efficiency particulate air filter, and a blowing filter-alternating display e.g. liquid crystal display, detachably fastened at the cleaner. A display field of the display is viewable from outside and represents respective conditions of lapsed time by an electronic, battery-operated circuit. The display has an upper external flange corresponding to a housing surface (12), where the flange is buried under the housing surface such that the display field lies adjacent to the housing surface.
