PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type per rectum ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of turning an electronic scanning probe, which is attachable and detachable to a chair having an improved strength, around an axis. SOLUTION: The per rectum ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 10 comprises a chair 12 for a subject 30 to sit on, a probe 18 attached to the chair 12, and an image forming apparatus 16 for forming an ultrasonic image on the basis of a received signal from the probe 18. The apparatus is characterized by that a vibrator 46 located at a tip 36 of the probe 18 is an electron scanning type vibrator and that a connecting tube 38 constituting the probe 18 has a double pipe structure for improving the strength. In addition, a supporting section for supporting the probe 18 is provided with an installing means for installing the probe attachably and detachably and a turning means for turning the probe around the axis when the probe 18 is installed.
