PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foam which uses a blowing agent having a low environmental problem, and furthermore has heat insulating properties compatible with flame retardance without using chlorofluorocarbons. SOLUTION: The foam is a styrenic resin foam obtained by the extrusion foaming of a styrenic resin, and contains at least one kind to be selected from 3-5C saturated hydrocarbons as part of a blowing agent or the entire blowing agent, simultaneously an aromatic sulfonic acid compound, and optionally at least one of a halogen based flame-retardant, a phosphorus-containing compound, a nitrogen-containing compound, and a boron-containing compound, and its production method is disclosed.
