A display device and a fabrication method thereof are provided stably to ensure a height difference between a sensor column spacer and a support column spacer in a single process by forming the sensor column spacer on a lower area of an overcoat layer and forming the support column spacer on a higher second area of the overcoat layer. A black matrix(120) is provided as a grid shape on a first insulating substrate(110). A color filter(130) is formed in the black matrix. An overcoat layer is formed on the black matrix and the color filter and has a first area and a second area higher than the first area. A sensor column spacer(165) is formed on the first area. A support column spacer(160) is formed on the second area. In the second area, the color filter is interposed between the black matrix and the overcoat layer. |
