The device (1) has a pressure unit (5) partially pressurizing a circulating grinding belt (2) against a grinding surface of a bus bar, where the pressure unit is adjustable along a longitudinal extending direction of the bus bar. The grinding belt is looped around two guide rollers (3, 4), by which one of the guide rollers is synchronous to a drive roller, and the pressure unit is displaceable along a guidance curve (8). An independent claim is also included for a method of removing a misalignment of two abutting bus bar ends by a grinding device.
