The treatment unit, comprising a series of UV lamps inside transparent protective sleeves that are cleaned by scraper rings linked to a sliding drive, has the rings mounted in annular holders of a support (41) connected by arms (42) to the motor. Each of the scraper rings has a slot for varying its shape and an outer peripheral groove for engaging with a holder, e.g. with the aid of a spring ring. The scraper ring holder can be made by laser cutting sheet stainless steel 2 mm thick.
