<p>A particle filter, for exhaust gasses from an IC engine, especially from a diesel engine, has rectangular/square cross section ducts in an array and with the inlet ducts and outlets ducts parallel and connected by porous walls. Alternate ends of the ducts are sealed by plugs causing the exhaust gasses to pas through the filter in a meandering fashion, leaving the particles trapped by the porous walls. An improved honeycomb design provides greater resistance to heat treatment.</p> |
