Automotive childproof safety lock control apparatus

An automotive door latch control apparatus comprises an input lever 922 driven from a handle 8 and an output lever 924 which acts to release a door latch arrangement 10, 11. A lock unit 94 is driven by an actuator to either transmit or prevent transmission of force from lever 932 to the latch arrangement and is moved to release at the same time as the handle unlatching movement is detected. As shown first and second childproof safety lock units 92, 93 are arranged in series with the lock unit 94 so that all units must be released to permit unlatching. Alternatively the lock unit 94 can be provided in series with only one childproof safety lock unit. The units 92, 93 are controlled via a power actuator 14 which can be operated by a control unit able to sense both handle movement and vehicle running state.
