<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal spraying device which can perform masking of high accuracy and has simple mechanism, and a roll manufacturing method for depositing spray deposit films of different surface roughness on the recessed portion and the projecting portion of a groove formed on a surface with excellent accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal spraying device for a roll, at least one rotary disk is provided parallel to the thermal spraying direction in a thermal spraying range in which thermal spraying particles sprayed from a thermal spraying gun fly, and the center axis of rotation of the rotary disk is perpendicular to the thermal spraying direction. A supporting arm to keep the relative position of the center axis of rotation of the rotary disk to the thermal spraying gun constant is provided, and a plurality of rotary disks are preferably provided at a fixed interval. In a thermal spraying method for the roll, the roll surface is thermal-sprayed while the rotary disk of the thermal spraying device is installed with the center axis of rotation inclined by 0-90° with respect to the axial direction of the roll, and the roll is rotated and/or the thermal spraying device is moved in the axial direction of the roll. By the rotation of the roll and/or the movement of the thermal spraying device in the axial direction of the roll, the position of depositing the spray deposit film is changed, and the surface of the roll is thermal-sprayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
