A backlight unit is provided to generate white light by mixing light emitted from a light source and emit the white light to a display panel by mounting a plurality of light sources within a plurality of unit blocks having a predetermined height. A frame(110) is attached to a display panel. A plurality of unit blocks(120) is formed by a sidewall protruding from a lower portion of the frame. A plurality of light sources(130) are fixed to sidewalls of the plurality of unit blocks. An optical sheet is formed on the frame. The plurality of light sources are light emitting diodes. The plurality of light sources emit red light(131), green light(132) and blue light(133). |
