The operating device has a gear shift lever (1) movable in a selection path. The gear shift lever can turn about its longitudinal axis (Z) and pivot about an axis (X;Y) perpendicular to the longitudinal one. It is possible to select the gear setting (P,R,D,3,2,1) by turning the lever about its longitudinal axis. The lever may also be able to be pivoted about an axis (Y) transverse to the direction of travel (X) to select gear ratios or gear change programmes. To change gear up in single stages, the gear shift lever can be turned out in the direction of travel ("+" position) and to change down, in the reverse direction ("-" position). |
