摘要 <p>A method and an apparatus for enhancing detection of a common control channel in an OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Access) based cellular communication system are provided to enhance BCH receiving performance by using a SCH(Synchronization CHannel) as a channel estimation pilot channel for BCH(Broadcasting CHannel) demodulation. According to a method for transmitting a common control channel in an OFDMA based cellular communication system having two kinds of OFDM symbols including a CP(Cyclic Prefix) of short length and a CP of long length according to the property of a physical channel, an OFDM symbol including BCH is generated and transmitted, by applying BCH and CP(Cyclic Prefix) with length corresponding to the other physical channel to be transmitted during the first period, during the first OFDM symbol period. During a second OFDM symbol period adjacent to the first OFDM symbol period, an OFDM symbol including the SCH is generated and transmitted, by applying CP with length corresponding to the other physical channel to be transmitted during the second period and applying short CP to the SCH.</p>
