[Also in Division B3] Where ferrite core-members 1 are ground and polished on the mating surfaces 4, Fig. 1, and then assembled by known glass-fusion techniques, the gap-depth h of the head being determined by grinding the surface 5, Fig. 2, elative to the edge 6, Fig. 1, the polishing of he surfaces 4 renders the edge 6 liable to crumble away and leave an indeterminate lower boundary to the depth h. Accordingly, an obtuse-angled bevel 8 is ground over the line 6 (Fig. 3) after polishing the faces 4, and the line 9 presents a sharp datum for microscopically observed setting of the assembly to grind and polish the surface 5. |
