The device has a motor operatable component (12) e.g. motor vehicle`s rear flap, swivelably connected with a body part (11). A supporting element (19) supports the component against the body part in an opened condition of the component, and a capacitive sensor element (22) e.g. proximity sensor, arranged between the component and the body part. The sensor element detects an object provided in a pre-determined clamping area between the component and the body part during a closing process, and monitors the jamming-endangered areas in a direct area around the supporting element and a rotation axis.
