An air conditioner is provided to reduce the total length of a motor and power consumption by installing a rotor outside the motor so that a motor case is not needed. An air conditioner comprises a cabinet of an outdoor unit, a fan of the outdoor unit, and a motor. The cabinet of the outdoor unit has an inlet and an outlet. The fan forms flow path from the inlet to the outlet of the cabinet. The motor has a stator(2) fixed to the cabinet of the outdoor unit and a rotor(20) rotated outside the stator.
