<p>A broadcast receiver and a method for transmitting status information of the broadcast receiver are disclosed. The broadcast receiver transmits status information of a DVR function to a broadcast transmission terminal via a network management unit. The network management unit may be any one of a Common Management Information Protocol (CIMP), a Remote Network Monitoring (RMON), and a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), etc. The status information may be defined in the form of MIB structure. The defined data may be communicated between the broadcast receiver and the broadcast transmission terminal according to a network management protocol. Therefore, the broadcast receiver can monitor the status information of the storage unit, and can transmit broadcast data or program to prevent the problems from being generated.</p> |
