The device (2) has a single planetary gear (18), a Ravigneaux-gear (20), and coupling devices (50, 52) arranged at input sides of gear sectors (14, 16). The coupling devices alternatively produce and release input-sided coupling of the sectors for torque transmission. The device (2) is designed and/or functions as an uninterruptible-control gear for exchanging from and/or between underdrive-gears and as an automated-control gear for exchanging from and/or between overdrive-gears. An independent claim is also included for a method for changing of gears of a motor vehicle gear device.
