The multi-zone air conditioning system (1), for a motor vehicle, has an air flow housing (2) for at least one heater (H) and evaporator (V). An air channel (L3) branches out from at least one housing zone, to carry a conditioned air part-flow to a different zone of the vehicle interior, e.g. the front foot area, than the flows through the other air channels (L4,L5) from the same housing sections.
