An actuator device for lifting a vehicle hood is provided to raise the hood by projecting a protrusion from a cylinder while lock member comprising a lock and a ball disposed on an outer circumference of the protrusion inside the cylinder penetrates the protrusion for raising the hood while effectively absorbing the impact of the collision inside a limited space inside the hood. An actuator device for lifting a vehicle hood during a collision comprises a cylinder(201), a protrusion(204) projecting from the cylinder to lift the hood, and a lock member formed along an outer circumference of the protrusion inside the cylinder. The lock member, when the protrusion is forcibly returned to the cylinder, penetrates into the protrusion so as to generate deceleration load at stationary with respect to the cylinder in a gap between an inner side of the cylinder, and an outer side of the protrusion is smaller than the size of the lock member. An outer cylinder larger in size than the cylinder encases the cylinder, and the actuator device is a multi-staged device in which the cylinder projects from the outer cylinder. The lock member consists of a lock and a ball(213), and plural locks and balls are disposed along the outer circumference of the protrusion. The diameter of the lock and the ball are above 2mm and below 3.5mm, and the lapping amount of the lock and ball penetrating into the protrusion is above 0.1mm and below 0.3mm. A boundary part limits the movement of the lock member in a direction towards the outer circumference of the protrusion. A compressing unit compresses the lock member to an opening of a space. The compressing unit is an elastic member, and the lock member compresses and deforms the compressing unit while the protrusion is projected from the cylinder. |
